Cooper's 1st Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at home with the family. We ate way to much and now we are home and really tired!!!

Sentimental moments

Well I am getting a headache now from trying not to cry. The closer we get to Dec. 17 the more emotional I get. Tonight we put Cooper's old carseat up in the attic, and I had no idea how something that small would effect me. I got really sad and went and found these pictures of Cooper leaving the hospital in his carseat. I also love the picture of me and Zac on the couch. Zac's face looks so confused...yes honey, babies cry for no reason. And of course, Coop's first Titans game.
Won't Heaven be sweet!!! The time won't be like it is here and we won't worry about changing or growing older or missing the past. I sooo love the age that Cooper is now, but I know that just as fast as this stage got here, it will go and the next one will come. Alright..enough sap. I'm gonna go watch football.

Dinner with friends and a big boy carseat

Today we installed Cooper's birthday gift, his new carseat from Pop and Granna. He really likes it. We got to test it out tonight when we met some friends of ours in Murfreesboro. Cooper liked sitting in it and realized he can see out the window now and watch the cars go by. He talked the entire way to and from Murfreesboro. Robert and Kimberly were in town so we met them at Toot's, and we got to hold Samuel. He is so precious and getting so big. Cooper just smiled at him, and then of course grabbed his pacifier (as he does to every baby). Cooper doesn't even use a pacifier, but he likes to take things away from small children. Ha. Fun weekend.

Cooper the great

Cooper does this crazy thing when he is in his highchair. He looks down, but his eyes look all the way up, and he puts his hands up toward the ceiling. I swear he looks like a magician trying to make something happen. The look on his face makes him look so craaazzzy. It's funny. We have also discovered that Cooper will get up on his knees and try to crawl so much better if he is naked. We noticed this while getting him ready after bath time. Now I have just been stripping him down randomly and letting him work on crawling. He will get up on all fours and rock and then just bite the floor. Hahah, he's really close though.

1 year ago today..

Well at this time last year I was having my baby shower. This also marked the beginning of me being unable to reach my shoes. It was such a great shower!! I couldn't sleep the night before. I remember moving from the air mattress ( I didn't have enough room and kept rolling toward Zac) to the couch (but Greg was snoring too loud) and then right back up to the air mattress. It was so fun to get home after the shower and get Cooper's room all ready for him.

Putting up the tree

Tonight we decided to put the christmas tree up because Zac works next weekend and I wanted it up before Thanksgiving. We were excited and thought it would be a great night, so we got a pizza for dinner. Well we started putting the tree together and Cooper got gas. We gave him mylicon twice, and for 3 hours, he was gassy and crying. So it ended up being a stressful night instead. But I'm still excited and the tree is pretty..except my bow..it's a little weird. I am going to eventually try to find an angel for the top. I also hung a bell on one of the bottom limbs, so when Sox comes barreling through the living room, the bell always rings.hahah. It's cute.

Quick learner

Yesterday during our early intervention session we started working on fine motor skills (which Cooper has NONE). I went out yesterday and bought him some toys and some small blocks that he needs to work on picking up and holding. Well this morning, he started doing it. He even banged them together a few times before chucking them in the floor.

Erin's birthday

Last night Greg and mom took us all out to celebrate Erin's birthday. We had a very interesting night. First, we got back to Erin's house and found the front door open and Kodiak gone. So, we all went searching for him. Erin was crying, Zac and Greg were running around the neighborhood in the dark, and I went directly next door to the neighbors. I looked in the bush and there is Kodiak...curled up sleeping in a bush. Thank goodness. Then we decided to give Finnn a haircut. I brought my clippers, and it actually went very well. He looks very handsome. Cooper had a blast playing with Finn. He likes it when Finn sits in the bumbo, because then he is not like a baby, he looks like something Cooper can play with. It was such a fun night.

Baby sitting and boobie juice..yikes!!

This afternoon I got to babysit my nephew. Erin dropped him off while she went to the doctor. Instead of coming back to get him, I offered to keep him to give her a much needed break and then bring him to her tonight. I am proud to say that it has gone very smoothly having two babies under a year old. My only problem was that Erin uses these plastic liners in Finn's bottles. Well, I didn't line it up well I guess and yep..you guessed it, my sister's boobie juice all over me and Finn. Luckily, I still have baby clothes around the house, so Finn didn't have to sit in it. And as we speak, Cooper is laying on his monkey gym playing and Finn is sound asleep in the bassinet (which I had to set back up, since Cooper rolls on Finn in the big crib). Fun Fun

7 months after heart surgery

Today Cooper had his 1st real appointment after heart surgery and although it went well, it was not the perfection that we as parents want. After surgery, he had a valve that was leaking. Well good to see today that it is not leaking, but the right valve is leaking. It is not leaking a significant amount, but that does put him at risk for endocarditis (infection). So the doctor put him back on enalipril to see if that will help slow the leak. Then in 6 months, she will do another echo and see how it has worked. Also, after surgery, there was some narrowing of the aortic valve (which we have known about) but that is something they will continue to watch as he grows. So, for now the Cardiologist does not see any surgery possibilities in the near future. Overall, she was very pleased with him. Once again we thank God for Cooper's health, and we know that if any issues come up down the road, they have already been sifted through God's hands and perfectly planned out! Most importantly...Cooper had a blast playing on the table!!!!
