Saturday to Tuesday

I'm going to play catch up. The past few days have been busy and I have neglected the blog. So Thursday I get a text asking if I can get anything prepared for special music on Sunday. I said ohhhh, um ok. So I downloaded a song and literally walked around for 2 1/2 days with head phones on trying to learn and practice this song for Sunday. And I didn't use the accompaniment track, we used the band and did it with live music which made me more nervous because I didn't get to practice with them until Sunday morning. So we did the 5k Saturday morning and I of course listened to my song a million times while I ran. After the run we had a preschool pool party to take the boys to. Mom called and said she and Greg were going to come up Sunday morning to hear me sing, so they got to church and got Cooper from his classroom so that he could sit with them in church. After church, they headed home and Zac and I headed to a youth Sunday school meeting. After all this....ah yes a nap. Tonight I took Cooper to the zoo where the American Heart Association was having an event for heart surgery survivors. Cooper has a friend in his classroom that also had heart surgery. He has half of a heart and has had 3 surgery's. His mom was speaking at the event. She is the one that told us about it and invited us. Cooper and Cain have apparently become buddies at school. They got in trouble the other day during nap time for laughing and playing. The teacher separated them and then looked back to see that they had scooted their cots back to each other. I'm glad Cooper has a friend this year!! Before we went to the zoo I ran over to the barber shop to get Cooper's hair cut because picture day is tomorrow and also because, well....he looked shaggy. And I think that just about wraps up our past few days.

So the gossip around the church is that Cooper ate 2 mini saltines in Sunday school. Sunday night after church I went directly into Kroger to get some of these miracle crackers and put them to the test.
He put it in his mouth but wouldn't eat it for me.
Hank ended up eating the one that was in Cooper's mouth. Yuk

Cain and Cooper after getting their picture made.

Cooper saw a bee and I couldn't get him to take a picture after that. He had to know where the bee was.
Cain was so good and got his face painted.
 Cooper found the music.....
 And danced, and rolled

and then found the channel 4 news camera. He followed that guy around for a while and then after he pulled on the tripod, I decided it was time for us to get out.

Race Day

Today was our 3rd year running the Best Buddies 5k. We got up early and drove to Franklin. This year we had a new course but it was still close to the old one. Brenton, Cyndi and mom were already there when we got there. Brenton ran with us this year and mom and Cyndi walked it. We had several friends join our team this year to run with us. Everyone did great, I was very proud of our team. Before it started we pinned on our numbers and Cooper and Hank ran around for a little bit. I hardly saw anyone though, it was really crowded. After that I strapped the boys into the jogging stroller and we lined up at the start line. The boys were waving at everyone and enjoyed this run because there was a lot to look at. I haven't looked up the official times yet, but Zac finished in like 24:50 and I think mine was 35:42. After we all finished we went to Ihop and of course packed those calories right back on.

There's our team mascot bustin a move in the background.

 Cooper checked out everyones shoes

This other little boy with DS kept hugging mom and chasing Cooper...
 hehehe...that kid was too funny

Lily made these sweet signs for her mama...she was our little cheerleader

I was running and trying to take a picture of how many people there were, obviously that didn't work well for me.

Friday

I woke up so relieved that today is Friday...then I realised I have to get up even earlier tomorrow than I would on a school day. As of right this second..I do not feel like getting up and running in the morning. Hopefully excitement will kick in. Cooper and Hank have been in a such a whiny, needy mood the past few days and it is making me crazy!! They are both teething, bless their hearts. This morning they were both awake already, so I got up and got them ready and used those extra few minutes before heading to school to take a few pictures. Cooper has also become fascinated with the little short bus at school. He stops and the bus driver opens the door and they talk and wave at each other every day. She is really wanting him to ride the bus, but I just can't bring myself to ever let that happen. It's funny though because he knows the difference between the big bus and the little bus. He doesn't stop at the big one. Hehehe, I love it. I heard in the hallway today at school that he is quite the flirt! He is starting to hug the little girls. I must admit, he comes by it honestly.

He does his shy face all the time now....he is a little show off I think.

Cooper will sit and pose for as long as the camera is pointed at him...Hank gives me death glares and takes off running.
Unless of course I'm holding him and then he is a lamb!!

School Days

This weekend Cooper left his backpack at nana and papa's house. I went scrounging through the house to find something he could use, but we had nothing. So I put my hiking backpack on him. He looked hilarious walking into school with that pack hitting him in the back of his legs. There has been a fly in the lunch room at school. Cooper thinks flies are bees. He hasn't been eating because the beeee, I'm sure he has to know where it is at all times. The past week and a half have been much better. He has been coming home with smiley faces instead of frowns.

He thinks it's so funny wearing my pack

Draft Night

Every year Zac goes to Chattanooga where he and his friends meet in a conference room to do their draft picks. I decided to have him drop me off at home on his way through and then pick me back up the next morning. Erin and Sam were also home, so we got to have a nice family night together. We ordered pizza and Erin and I couldn't decide what we wanted more, so we split a cheese steak sandwich and then ate pizza too. We pigged out and enjoyed every last bite. After my boys went to bed, I stole Sam away from mom and got to hold him. He is such a little cuddle bunny. Having a baby with colic means you miss out on a lot of that sweet time, because they just scream non stop and it's not sweet at all. But Sam is perfect and just laid so nicely in my lap until he fell asleep. We all sat up talking until almost midnight. I'm sure Greg's head is still spinning from absorbing all of our girly nonsense. I tell him, at least he got grandsons. His manly days and football watching with the boys are not too far away. This morning Hank woke me up at 6:00. Oh joy. I went down to make him breakfast and heard Cooper in moms room...awake as well. We played on the air mattress for a little bit and then Cooper started yelling at the top of his lungs...PAPA. And then ran into his room. We played outside for a while too. The boys loved hammering and playing in Greg's new shed. When Zac got home to pick us up, we were suppose to be headed to a picnic at the park with Cooper's class mates. Turns out though there was quiet a bit of opossum damage done to my car after Zac hit some roadkill. Something was hanging off the front of my wheels. Zac and Greg worked on fixing that and we decided to go home for naps instead. When we got back to Nashville I had to run to the church to drop off some cakes and some shower decorations. After that Zac's parents came to visit. He and Brenton hung my strollers in the garage for me. I didn't want them on the floor, so they hung them all up!! We went and ate Mexican food and  now the boys are off in dreamy land after a long day.

Cooper asked to get on this rocking horse. He loves the carousel now, so I think he decided the rocking horse would also be fun. Yep...he loved it.

He wanted his bear to ride too

 his face is so endearing

We went for a morning stroll around the Hunt property
