Flying Home

We woke up and for last time ate breakfast at the bread company. We took the metro to the airport. Thankfully we had used the passport app and didn't wait the terrible lines. I got to talking to a man from the middle east in the security line. He was getting his clothes and head wrap all back on, He looked at me and laughed and said, everyone is so scared, they are so scared of me!! Athens had a nice airport, so we walked around for a bit before heading back to our gate. Everything went great on the ride home. It didn't seem near as long as the flight there. When we got to Philadelphia though, we got delayed again. Once for the crew not being there on time and then again for weather. We landed in Atlanta around 9:45. We ubered back to Laurens house, grabbed the van and drove to Manchester. We made it to moms around 1am. We had once again been awake for about 29 hours. I think by Tuesday we were pretty much back on schedule. We were tired for a few days though.

 I went up to take a quick picture of the pool of our hotel since I didn't take any, and they had it covered in this net for some reason.

 Zac and I would sit up here every night almost and just look at the lights. This was usually around 10pm and it would be packed with people eating dinner.

 After I had watched all the TV shows and movies I could, I changed my screen and watched us fly on the map.

 We got Coop a spartan shirt and Hank and Quinn some avengers cars.

Exploring Oia

We woke up and went down to the Remvi restaurant to have breakfast. It was cold so thankfully they had the windows up to the indoor part. The owner that showed us to our suite was also there helping with breakfast. They brought us eggs, a big plate of assorted bread, pastries, sandwiches, yogurt with the candied cherries in it, coffee, tea and orange juice. It was such a nice and big breakfast. We were asking the owner about the weather and she was telling us that the winter just wasn't ending this year. They had also had a lot of rain which was not normal for the Islands. As soon as we got out in the sun though, it warmed up fast. We put our luggage in the car and checked out. We walked over and took a short but steep hike in Imerovigli.

 Again, these crazy streets and stairs that are so steep and narrow.

 We walked up to the top and then back. I honestly don't even know the name of this is or if it even has a name...

 The paths wind around the suites and hotel rooms. They all had these beautiful pools

 Then we had to climb these steps back to the city.

 We drove to Oia and parked. My main goal was to somehow get down to the water and get in. It took us some time to finally find our way down.

We almost gave up and I was just about to just climb down the rocks and at least put my feet in. Zac yelled at me from over some rocks and had found THE perfect spot. There were people laying out reading books and jumping off the rocks! It was so worth it. This was one of our favorite things.

 The water was so blue and pretty. It was cold of course but what shocked us was how salty it was.

 The salt was just pooled in my neck and turned my shirt white....it felt like sand. It was so crazy how salty it was. We boarded our ship later that day and were in the bathrooms washing the salt off.

 We barely had 15 minutes in the water. We were on such a time crunch to get back to our ship and turn in the car. Instead of climbing those 200 plus steps back up, we hopped on some donkeys. So glad we did this. This was a highlight for both of us.

We returned our car, grabbed some lunch and boarded our ship. This trip was magical. As I'm blogging I miss it. Our ship got back to Athens around 11 and we took the metro back to our Stanley hotel. We got our things all packed for the flight back the next morning.
