Cooper and Samuel

This morning, one of my very best friends came to visit us. They live in Texas (which I am still not happy about, since I can't ever get to Texas), but thankfully when she is in town we try to see each other. Her and her mom and Samuel came to play and we had lunch at O'Charleys. Yes, we took all three of our turkeys out to lunch. It actually went pretty well. Hank slept through it, thank goodness. I had to keep him swaddled all day though, just so he wouldn't cry. Cooper is usually the one following kids around and kind of rough housing with them, but today he met his match. Samuel can really play. He even gave Cooper a taste of his own medicine. He went to tackle him and yep...Coop stuck that bottom lip out and started crying. It made me curious though to see how Cooper and Hank wrestle when they are a little older. I also discovered that Cooper is not as special as I thought. Samuel does the exact same things that Cooper does. He throws things in the toilet and plays in the toilet water and dumps things out. They were so funny together. I'd say Kimberly and I will crash tonight at bedtime!!!
Oh, these first pictures are from the other day. I forgot to post them. Cooper has his new tshirt that Lauren brought him from Greece.

Hank

Just having some fun with Hank....

2 Months

This morning I took Hank to the Dr to get his 2 month shots. I'm a little sad that time has gone by so quickly, and yet Hank has not let me sleep, much less hear the thoughts in my own head, so at the same time, I'm also a little relieved that he is getting older and past this fussy cranky stage. Gina came and kept Cooper while I took Hank to the Dr. I also had my 6 week post birth appt with my OB. It was just easier to bring one kid instead of 2. Plus, Cooper had a blast showing Gigi all of Mickey Mouses tricks. He also read his flashcards for her. I videoed it the other night finally, but he sits there and points to his cards and talks (with a strong Cooper accent) about them before sorting them into different piles. After our appointments  I came back and made grilled cheese sandwiches for me and Gina and Cooper napped. I also had about 20 minutes in between Hanks appt and my appt, so we dropped into Lipscomb to see Zac. We took Hank up to the Deans office to show him. Thankfully Hank was good and did not cry in his office.

At 2 months old Hank weighed 12lb 12oz and was 23in.
The Dr discussed the calcification's in Hanks liver and again said they are fine, we don't need to do anything about them.

And then came the torture. Hank got his shots, but what was worse was I didn't push the skin back well enough after his circumcision, and the skin had healed over the head of his penis and the Dr had to push that skin back and then it was all bloody and nasty. Hank really hated that. He cried this little cry that I have never heard and kind of just moaned for awhile. I could tell it really hurt. Now he cries every time his diaper is wet. The shots were basically a piece of cake after having your tally whacker ripped!!!(Zac I know you appreciate this great medical terminology)
 his shots.....
Look at those teary red eyes. So pitiful.

The Sheriff & his Deputy

Well I had hoped to go lay out by the pool today and soak up some rays, however mother nature had other plans (RAIN) all day. Instead we all layed in the playroom and had photo session as we do so often. Hank has been unusually well behaved today. Last night Zac and I went to home depot and to toys r us to let Cooper play. I was telling him about how I can't go anywhere (this is not an exaggeration...I cannot go ANYWHERE) without people talking to me. At Home Depot 2 different people stopped me and then I was stopped again twice at Toys R US. We were walking out of the store and Zac said, you were absolutely right, It's like your famous. People always want to know what is wrong with my baby. Hahha. I tell them nothing, he just cries all the time. They always want to give me advice too or tell me about someone they know that has Down Syndrome. Both of my kids draw so much attention to me. The thing is, I usually cant even hear them talking to me over the screams of sweet Hank. Anyways...back to our Saturday morning. I caught so many expressions this morning from the boys. I truly believe my kids have more facial expressions than any other kid in the world. Cooper is always cracking me up with some new look.

I think Hank looks like a baby ostrich here.aahhahhaaa
Hank is starting to show a little personality.....very different from Coopers. Hank is very solemn.
 SQUISH......look at that sweet face!!!!

No idea where this came from
He learned how to moo. Now when he sees a cow he doesn't do the old moo...he does the correct moo.
My Turkeys really are starting to get along and interact....
well, Cooper interacts and Hank has to take it

Therapy and the Finnster

Today mom and Finn met us at therapy to pick up a pump for her swimming pool. She was taking Finn home with her for a few days.We showed up about 30 minutes before Cooper's session so that he could play with Finn. Cooper went straight to playing with all the stuff. It took Finn a minute. I offered him a piece of chocolate and that made him warm up to me a little. Then I basically grabbed him and made him get down on the floor to play, and that did it, he played and ran around and rode in the big car and had a little blast. He was so funny, I told mom that she needed to cut his fingernails. Then I said "Finn, tell your mama your fingernails are nasty". He said "mama, fingers natty". Hahah. It was cute. Then he tried to find the chocolate in my purse and I kept hiding it from him. Then he tried to drink my Dr pepper, which I also hid from him. Another thing I noticed and pointed out to mom was that when a little girl rolled over to Finn in her wheelchair, he started crying and got scared. "Typical" kids are a lot of the time afraid of kids with disabilities. However the kids with disabilities all just seem so comfortable with one another as if they have some underlying understanding of the fact that they are all there because of a disability.

Finn has definitely passed Cooper in growth. He is probably 3 or 4 inches taller.

This was precious Erin.....I told Finn to smile because I was going to show his mama these pictures. He smiled and said Hi mama!

Rainy Tuesday

It looks like most of this week will be doom and gloom. Good thing I took the boys to the pool yesterday. After therapy today the boys and I just did a lot of nothing. And then of course played in the playroom the rest of the night. Hank has started to make tiny cooing sounds and I can sometimes get him to smile when I kiss or play with his cheeks.

I just love my boys...they are both so cute!!
