This morning we headed off to school. Cooper had class pictures today. I am now so curious as to what it will look like since last years school pictures were of all the kids looking straight ahead smiling, and Cooper, sitting and gazing at Emma, most likely wondering why they stood her so far away from him. Oh well, at least his profile was precious. After doing major grocery shopping ( I'm surprised Hank and I even fit in the car there were so many groceries) we met Liz and Carter at the Cheesecake Factory. Hank of course wanted everything to eat that Carter had and could barely wait for his food. I had been missing Liz and Carter, so I was excited she was in Nashville today. Carter had his DS clinic appointment at 1:00 and Cooper had an ENT appointment at 2:40, so after lunch we browsed the Tory Burch store for a minute and then headed to Vanderbilt. Zac met me there to help with Hank and to hear what the plan was. So basically it was exactly what I expected, Cooper will have surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids. 12 Weeks after surgery he will have another sleep study to check things out. The good thing....the scheduling lady said she would call me with the appointment since she was also going to coordinate getting Cooper's dentist there to do his cleaning while he is sedated and also get his routine EKG and ECHO done while sedated. This is huge for me and him. Those are both stressful appointments. Anyways, he will have a few day stay at the hospital while he recovers and then has to be home from school 7 to 10 days for recovery after that. The worst part about all of this was them telling us how nasty the scabs are and how awful his breath will be. Gag, I seriously may vomit if he breathes on me. So hopefully we will know in the next week when surgery is.

Gran visits
Blogger has finally overcome its little glitch and I am able to get the pictures up of when the boys went to visit with Gran. But now I can't remember much about the weekend, but I know they had fun and were glad to get to visit.
What is worse...an eye injury or a foot injury?
So this morning Cyndi came and rescued me from having to take Hank with me and Cooper to the eye Dr and then having to take both of them with me to my Dr. She watched Hank while I took Cooper for yet another eye appointment. After 2 hours, one poop and several fits later (all Cooper by the way).....we finally know that his vision and his eyes are completely fine. Apparently children with DS can get some crusty build up near their eyelashes that can bother them and make them squint, rub their eye, etc. She could see that Cooper had some and said just make sure to wash his eyes really well every night. He was just not having this eye appointment. It was one of our worse ones. But thankfully his vision is the same in both eyes, he is still a little far sighted (the Dr said was odd since most kids with Ds are near sighted) and all of his nerves and retina stuff was normal. After the appointment I dropped Cooper back off at the house with Cyndi and I turned around and headed to the Dr to get my foot xray'd. That was another 2 hour appointment. After the xray they said they would call me in the morning to give me the results. My foot hurts worse tonight than it has in 2 weeks. I got home around 3:30, Cyndi had cooked us dinner and brought us some fruit and frozen stuffed peppers, so it was nice to just sit down with the boys and put my feet up until Zac got home from work. The boys were wild tonight, they were chasing each other up and down the hallway. I got a few pictures of them before bed. Thursday we see ENT to determine what to do about Cooper's sleep apnea, and then we are done with all these appointments for a while..Lord willing.
And for those that don't get my title...it's from an old episode of The Office when Dwight has a concusion and Michael has burned his foot on the George Forman grill, and wants to put his foot in the mri machine.

Cain's Superhero Birthday
Saturday morning we all went to Bounce U for Cains birthday party. I assumed the boys would love it. Wrong...they were both terrified. Cooper loosened up pretty quick but Hank and I sat on a bench with Brandy and her kids the entire time. After the bounce part was over we went into the party room for snacks. Hank was so funny. He picked up his cupcake and almost shoved the entire thing in his mouth. He loved it. After the birthday we headed straight to the zoo. I ran the zoo run run 5k, luckily it was a gorgeous day. The trail was so neat too. Zac and the boys strolled around in the parking lot while I ran. I had my best time yet of 29 minutes. I found Liz and her friend after the race was over and I saw Tonya and Lydia before the run. After that we got Krystals and went home to eat dinner and watch Homeland.
Link had Dottie the class pet for the weekend, Hank was very interested in Dottie.
Cooper and a few of his classmates.
After the race...we look a little rough.

An appology to my blog...
I just cannot seem to sit down and blog here lately. Basically because we literally have not been doing anything. We are completely boring this month. I did manage to at least take a few pictures of the boys last night. The last two nights, Cooper stands on the couch and Hank gives him a spoon or a ball, Cooper throws it and Hank runs to get it and brings it back to Cooper. Basically my genius children are playing fetch like dogs. But hey they are having fun. Wednesday night at choir practice I found out I am doing some solos Sunday, so from yesterday till Sunday I am walking around with ear phones in, trying to get it all learned. Tomorrow I am running the zoo run 5k but my foot is still in so much pain. I'm now thinking it's a muscle or tendon. I may be walking this one.
Cooper figured out he could put the hex bugs in the dump truck and flip them up in the air.

Half Marathon
I almost forgot to blog about this. I had decided I was going to sign up to run my first half marathon. I was going to do the one in September so that I had plenty of time to work up to it. However.....just thinking about running in that miserable heat made me decide to up my game a little and run the one this April. So, on April 27th, Hank's 2nd birthday, I'm going to run 13.1 miles......and hopefully not die. So yesterday I decided to just go out and see without any training, how far could I go. I made it 6 miles!! I was really excited. It took an entire hour and I was really tired, but I figure that is a good start. Today, I feel like I have deeply bruised the balls of my feet under my toes. I got some squishy inserts at the store today to hopefully lessen the blow to my feet. It may take me 3 hours to run 13 miles, but I just want to say I did it.
Roger
Friday morning at 4 am I heard a yell from Cooper's room. I got up and went to his room to find he was up playing. He had emptied all of his drawers, toys were all over the room and his little fish tank was turned on. Hank also hasn't slept through the night this past week either. I have had to get up and rock him several times. Since Cooper had an audiology appointment Friday afternoon, I decided to keep him home. He was so crabby that morning too. I got a call from Studio Z in Murfreesboro saying they were cleaning out some old files and Cooper's one year pictures were there if I wanted to go get them. Since I had both boys, I thought it would be a good time to run up there and visit for a minute and get Coop's pictures. Steve and Laura were there and the boys of course ran in and ran wild in the studio. They had fun playing ball and blowing bubbles and throwing things into the ceiling fan. I was glad they got to see the boys. After that we stopped a few places in Murfreesboro and then went straight to Vandy for Cooper's hearing appointment. On the way there Hank fell asleep. All of a sudden Cooper just yells.....KEEEEE. (That's how he says Hank) and I look back and Cooper is leaned as far over toward Hank as he can and is yelling at him trying to wake him up. I said Cooper stop and reached back and smacked his hand. I look back again and Cooper has thrown Hank's blanket on his face, threw Hank's sippy cup on him, Cooper's sippy cup on him and Cooper's bib. Hank slightly opened his eyes to give Cooper a death glare and then went right back to sleep. Cooper's hearing appointment went great, he passed it fine. At first we thought he wasn't doing so well until the lady decided to say "Cooper show me where you're nose is". Cooper looked at her and shook his head no. HA, so we knew he was hearing her, he was just ignoring her requests. Saturday morning Zac got out the boy's puppet that they got for Christmas. Cooper loves his puppet and apparently he and Zac named it Roger. Why? I'll never know but we have had a good time talking to Roger the past 2 days. Last night we went to church for our choir Christmas party. Since December is so busy and all we do is rehearse for the play we do that month, we always have our party in January. It was fun and the food was great. The boys ran around and played with their cars.
For those that may not know, Steve is the photographer that I worked with for several years. He did my wedding and bridal photos and has taken a session or two of Cooper as well.
Love that face he is making.
