Hank's blankie

Hank has been carrying his blanket around for a few days now. When I was his age I had a yellow blanket. I carried it EVERYWHERE! When I went to Kindergarten I couldn't take my blanket so my parents started cutting it into tiny squares trying to break me of it. Not that it did much good, I still to this day have a blankie of my own, it just stays on my bed (unless I travel and then it comes with me). Anyways, I'm seeing all those memories again now that Hank has started carrying his. And it isn't just whatever blanket happens to be there, it is this blanket that Sherri got him and had monogrammed for him. He will even get into the drawer of clean blankets and pick that one out. The difference is, I had one hand that I sucked my thumb, and the other hand held my blanket. Hank has one hand on his blanket and the other holds his sippy cup. Even if nothing is in the cup, he just keeps it in his mouth and sucks on it.

Last night before bed I found him in the playroom curled up like an old woman on his chair.

Then this morning, he comes down the stairs with blankie in hand

Playground

This morning we all went to Murfreesboro to meet Brenton and Cyndi at the playground. The boys had so much fun. Cooper of course ran to the big kid side right away. There was a birthday party at the playground and Cooper had a few mini fits when we dragged him away from their balloons. They ran wild for about an hour and a half and then we all went to Toot's and ate hamburgers.

Cooper loves climbing on these. We did this at our neighborhood playground the other day and saw them at this playground. The hard part is, someone has to hold his legs and the other has to make each hand grab the bars. He thinks it's so funny though.

This swing was fun. I think I liked it more than the kids though.

This was one of Cooper's favorite things.

And the tree was his other...

It was a really fun morning and such wonderful weather too!!

A day in the Life of Cooper

This afternoon as I was picking Cooper up from school, I was talking to a mom and another mom got my attention and pointed at Cooper. He was standing in line with the other kids and yep.....he had his pants pulled down around his ankles. I screamed and said Cooper...but then I busted out laughing. I didn't even know he knew how to pull his pants down. He is hilarious...and on that note, his friend Braxton said mom Cooper is hilarious. Will you teach me the sign for hilarious so I can talk to Cooper, I want to be able to sign and talk to him. That just made me so happy and broke my heart all at once. I can't wait for the day when Cooper can talk to his peers, and yet it is the most precious thing that other children want to learn the way he talks so they can communicate with him. Soooo sweet. And yes, Cooper thought pulling his pants down was hilarious, he laughed all the way home. The kids in Cooper's class all came home with school photos yesterday. Cooper did not come home with a photo, but yet a flyer that said photo retake day. Hmmmm. I got on the website and called the company thinking ok, Cooper probably was uncontrollable and wouldn't take his picture. Turns out you were suppose to preorder the pictures before you even see them!!! What the heck, what if they are terrible?? So it turned out they took his picture and had it on file on the website. The lady on the phone said, is it Cooper Cox? I said yes...why? She said oh we took quite a few pictures of this little guy, he was being silly. She gave me the code to the pictures though and they were awesome. I loved them all.

Random picture we took after school. Cooper's eye is getting much better. I so wish I had my camera at school when he pulled his pants down. Wow.

See You at the Pole

Since I have 2 very small kids, I couldn't be with any of our youth at See you at the Pole. However, Cooper and I went to school early and for his first time ever, he got to attend See you at the Pole. We got to school and before we went to the flag pole, I took a few pictures. Some people may think this is pointless to take a 3 1/2 year old to pray at the flag pole. My reasoning for this is, they are never too young to start praying ( even if it is a small child's prayer). And also, my main focus and goal for Cooper (and Hank) in life is to know and live for Jesus. So...after a few pictures we crossed the street over to his school's flag pole and sat down beside it. I explained to him that we were praying to Jesus for our school and our Country and our Leaders. He signed Jesus and took both of my hands to pray.

I made him a picture to hold

Hank goes to the Fair

Friday I met Cyndi before my hair appointment in Murfreesboro and she took Hank to Manchester for the night. She and Brenton took him to the Coffee County Fair. I believe she said his favorite things were the tractor, the political balloon and one other thing I can't remember. Funny Hank. On the way home the next day they stopped and played in Murfreesboro at this playground that has just recently been remodeled. I thought it sounded fun and decided we will try to meet up this Saturday and let Cooper and Hank play at the playground. And of course, eat at Toots. It is extremely rare for Zac to ever be in Murfreesboro (he detests Murfreesboro with every fiber of his being), but if he ever is, we have to go to Toots.

Looking at a picture of Cooper and saying Baby. Cooper looks at his own baby pictures and says Hank.
I love the smile on his face right here!!

This big puzzle was also another one of his favorites.

There's that political balloon. He took it home with him too.

He played the duck game and won a Nemo fish....and immediately threw it into the water with the ducks. (Cyndi washed it, don't worry, it's clean)
It was so relaxing only having one child for the night, but it was also a great feeling knowing both boys were in their beds last night. I now know that feeling that parents have when all of their children are home and all under one roof (even if we are almost in our 30's). There is just a great peace and comfort to it. I tagged these pictures on at the end. They were from church this morning and church this afternoon. Zac had transition team meeting today so the boys and I pulled their mattresses into the playroom and closed all the blinds and curtains, turned the lights off and watched the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Cooper was yelling and running and acting out what he could from this Harry Potter movie. Sooo cute!!
