First night

Our first night at home was an absolute nightmare. You would think we were brand new parents. Hank woke up to eat at 11:30 and was up until 3:30 screaming. We could not comfort him at all. I was literally scared something was wrong with him. We decided it was probably gas and he finally had a blow out poop and went to sleep. He slept for 5 1/2 hours after that without waking up. I had to wake him up this morning to feed him. It was exhausting. I got some more hospital pictures in my email this morning, so here are a few more.

The 5 day arrival....

So I just got  home from the hospital about 2 hours ago. Zac headed to work and mom to the grocery. Cooper is playing with his toys, Hank is sleeping and I am blogging. Not bad so far. Let me just say that Hank's birth was much better than the labor. After being doubled over in pain from contractions every 10 minutes for 5 days and not sleeping, it was a relief when they finally said "ok, we are going to admit you, it looks like you are in labor". I went in dilated to a 4 but they gave me pitocin since it was taking so long. Zac and I were able to sleep most of the night and then at 4:54am Hank was born!! I only pushed for 10 minutes, no stitches or any problems at all. He was 8 lb 11oz and 20 inches long. My hospital stay was like a hotel stay. I sent Hank to the nursery every night at 8:00 and I went to bed and then went and got him in the morning. Zac and mom stayed at the house and took care of Cooper, so I was in my hospital room all by myself. It was soo relaxing. So far, Cooper is not jealous. He doesn't want Hank close to him (he pushes him away), but doesn't mind if someone is holding Hank. He just plays with his toys and goes about his business. And now....enjoy a few of the 300 pics that I took!!!

 I always request that my babies get cleaned before they give them to me, so here I am finally holding him!!

And so our family of four life begins. We are going to church this Sunday and therapy this Thursday and Friday for our first outings. Hopefully they will go well.

Easter Sunday

                                                          Precious!!!

Well this morning after contracting every 15 minutes all night long, I was unable to go to church on Easter. Easter is my second favorite holiday, I'm not sure why, but the Jesus holidays are my favorite. Zac and Cooper got up and headed to early service because Zac and I had nursery today. I sat home in pain, and in between awful contractions was able to get a few tears out. It's funny how when you are in a lot of pain, you can't even cry, then the contraction passes and you are left exhausted and teary eyed. It has been a looong 3 days. When they got home, I had some manicotti and green beans made for me and Zac to eat while Cooper napped, then I gave Zac his Easter basket. After Cooper woke up, we gave him his basket and played with what he got for awhile. We went outside and played. I gave Cooper these colored bubbles (which I have heard are a mess), well they are pretty messy but really pretty. Then we just blew regular bubbles for awhile instead. Cooper chased them all over the yard.

Hank

This post does not come with pictures unfortunately. At 6:30am yesterday I woke up and my contractions came on with a boom. They started at 8 minutes apart and quickly went to about 2 minutes apart. We went to Vanderbilt and they hooked me up to the monitors and watched me for a few hours. I was not progressing and Hank seemed fine and healthy so they sent me home. So I have officially been contracting "laboring" for over 24 hours now and I am absolutely exhausted. What happened to the second baby coming faster?! It is the worst thing being in pain and knowing all you can do is wait. Ugg, I'll try to keep posting updates though and I am praying really hard that Hank will come on this weekend and free me of this misery.

Plastic panties

So these are the plastic undies that I put over Cooper's regular undies. So far he does not care that he pees in them. He only went to the potty twice today. They are funny looking though and they sound weird when he walks.

 He carried the fly swat around for a long time just talking to it.

 I added these little touches to the boys bathroom just to spruce it up a bit. They turned out cute.

Cooper signs mama

 Thumb to chin is the sign for mama. Zac taught that to Cooper last night. However thumb to forehead is daddy. Cooper got super confused and so since he can say dada, we are not working on that sign anymore.

 Here I was trying to get him to sit down so I could take pictures of him signing, but apparently the swiffers were much more interesting.
