Fall Break at the Beach

Last week we spent the week in Destin with the Cox's for fall break. A hurricane came through Wednesday and we arrived in Destin Friday. We were very thankful that we were able to take our trip and there were no problems and the weather was beautiful! The boys were so excited. As soon as we topped the bridge into Destin, Cooper screamed when he saw the water. Cooper rode waves all week long. Quinn played in the sand 90% of the time. He absolutely loves building sand castles and playing with his Indians and army men. Hank did a little of both. He liked playing in the sand and a little in the water. He loved taking his mosasarous to the swimming pool and playing with it too. He saved up his money for 3 weeks to buy the mososaurus. We had red tide move in Monday and I had never experienced anything like that. It had us coughing and sneezing. Hank loved going out in the water and scooping up all the dead fish in the  net and dumping them up on the sand. We had an impressive amount of dead fish surrounding our little beach area. They also loved the golf cart. They loved going on golf cart rides around the neighborhood. We ate at all of our favorite places and all of the food was great. I never had a bad meal. Gavin bought the boys and Hadlee some nerf guns and they had a little nerf gun war one morning. Our "show of the trip" was Masha and the Bear. Every trip we take, there is always a tv show or movie that the kids watch all the time. They all enjoyed this little netflix show and watched it all week.

 We got so tickled at Quinn. Hadlee knocked over his castle and he just looked up at me and slammed his palm to his head and shook his head.

 Hadlee loved it when Cooper would jump on the float and make her bounce up in the air. She would just giggle and of course Cooper loved getting a reaction, so he kept it up.

 Granna and Pop brought toys and Lego's from home so the boys would have something to do inside.

 Another fun thing of the week was playing Old Maid. Quinn loved Old Maid and asked to play it a lot.

 He was so into it, it was hilarious.

 Quinn took a nap Sunday afternoon which just made him wake up to be a monster. He was cranky all evening.

 Cooper let Hank put a piece of cotton candy on his tongue!! He reached in to take it out of his mouth but it had dissolved, so he started spitting and wiping his tongue.

 Hank got into catching lizards. He caught a little green lizard and put him in a bottle at the house. Later that evening when he decided to let the lizard go, he cried and cried because he missed his lizard and wanted to keep it.

 We spent one evening at the arcade after dinner. They all had a great time there. It was a really nice and open arcade. Cooper and Hank loved this little ride that shakes and moves while you watch a screen.

 Quinn wanted to strike poses that were ninja poses but just looked super awkward. He's so much fun.

 Hank was so sad to leave. We promised him we would stop at the beach on the way out. When we left he broke down bawling. He has been sad since we left, but he's getting his routine back.

Such a fun trip. We always hate leaving the beach.
