Super Coop and Carter Coop

Today Cooper and I went to play with Carter and Connor. Carter has some neat toys and I found out about a website where I can order things that teachers use during early intervention. We took the boys for a walk in a wagon which I just knew Cooper would love. He actually wasn't that thrilled. He's been in a rotten mood today though. We walked down to this water pond that had a fountain and took some pictures of the boys. When we got back we were sitting in Carter's room and I looked up and Connor was giving Cooper his juice. He is just the sweetest most well behaved boy. I just love that family.

Cooper and Reba

Today I was shopping at Dillards for dresses for all the weddings we have coming up. I was waiting at the elevator and out comes a camera crew and Reba McEntire!! And of course the 1 time I don't have a camera on me, she comes over and starts talking to Cooper. He smiled at her and gave her one of his famous Cooper yells. She looks very different in person. She is very skinny and I think prettier in person as well. Her voice doesn't sound as country in person either. I was so disappointed that I didn't have my camera. So I took a picture of Cooper when we got home (yes he looked that homeless when he met her) and I took a picture off line of her Dillards add so that I would at least have something to put on my blog. I was shocked to see her and so I just kind of smiled and looked away (I didn't want to bother them), but then she asked how I was doing, and I said fine, and she crouched down next to Cooper and talked to him. Pretty neat day.

Headache

Today we went and hung out at Vanderbilt. Finn was having surgery on his head because his soft spots closed prematurely. We were there from 7:30 to 1:30. Cooper did farely well considering he didn't nap all day and we had to go straight to OT from the hospital. Finn's surgery went very well, I'm sure when the sedation wears off Finn will really wonder why he has such a headache. We sat in the same seats in the waiting room that we sat in when Coop had his heart surgery. When that phone rang for updates, it was a wonderful feeling to be on the receiving end. Cooper played on the floor with his ball and climbed on the chairs. Once we got home from therapy Cooper was out like a light. I woke him up and fed and bathed him, and tonight when he scuried nakedly away from me, he discovered his growth chart hanging on the wall. He basically tried to tear it up. I'll have to end up moving it. He stared at it forever though, with his face right up next to it. When he really examines something he puts his face directly infront of it. It's hilarious. If I make a noise with my mouth he gets nose to nose in my face and just stares at my mouth. He's so precious and funny. I also added a picture of Coop in the kitchen. Sometimes when we can't find him, he is in the kitchen staring at the fan.

Mr Speckles and his hair cut

I realised today that I have never blogged about Cooper's haircuts and never even took a picture at his first haircut. His hair grows like a weed and we have to cut it about every three weeks. Last night I accidently got one of his ears shorter than the other side, so Zac photographed our hair clean up today. Cooper...as you can see hates his hair cuts. Pretty soon, I'll have to have a proffesional do it so that I don't cut of an ear or a finger or something. I also put some pictures of Cooper's speckles in here. You can see them all over his arm and his face. Zac figured out last night that it is a scarlet fever rash caused by strep throat. It is pretty common and it should go away in a few days. It should peel off like a sunburn though. He still doesn't act like it's bothering him though. Which means tomorrow he will have to go to sunday school and church with us so not to infect any other kids. That may be a disaster. However..it is not a reason to actually skip church. We can at least sit in the cry room and still hear the sermon if he's bad.

Precious moments

I ran across these pictures this morning and just had to put them in my blog. Coop staring at his c pap mask..like what is this on my face.. And him getting CPT and going cross eyed because they were beating him so hard. And that wonderful phone call in the waiting room saying Coop was out of surgery. And then one of Coop's funny face copying Zac's facial expression. These are such good moments. That lookouts shirt Coop has on, we can't even get it over his fat belly now. That is such a wonderful thing. I just wanted to put these in my blog so that they will be printed in my next book.

Mothers

It's funny how when you become a mother it takes the peace and quiet of 3:38 am for your mind to decide to switch on and actually think. I don't know why but I started thinking of my salvation and how "easy" it came by me being raised in a christian home. We take for granted our salvation sometimes, because the christian life is all we've known. So many people were born into families that aren't christians and that kind of paved the way for some of them as well. As mother's day approaches, I just want to publicaly acknowledge my mother and for that matter..her mother and father as well. When I pray at night, that is one of the things I am thankful for. I don't know what or where I would be now had it not been for a christian mother. Where would Cooper be now had it not been for a christian grandmother and mother. So I just want to say thank you to my mom for being a good example to me and for her service to the Lord. I strive to be that same example and that same christian home for my kids. Happy early mothers day mom (it's mothers day all year, not just for one day). Coop and I love you.

Cyndi, we love you too, but you know Zac would never say anything like this. So I figure I better tell you for him.

Blahh

Cooper was up most of the night last night (which isn't rare because he hasn't slept through the night in months). He had a fever all day yesterday and all day today, and he broke out in little red polka dots all over. So I took him to the Dr, as I have done weekly for the past month, and turns out he has an ear infection and strep throat. The Dr looked in Coop's throat and then looked at me and said can you see that, and I said what those white dots all over his throat, well yeah. They looked pretty painful. So he is on antibiotics again. He also has decided that he wants to stand at one of his toys that is meant to be sat infront of and he topples head first over the toy into the hard wood floor. I didn't think he would ever stop crying. Poor little guy.

Therapy

Today in therapy Cooper played in Shaving cream. He was not very happy about that but soon discovered the ball and everything was ok. I also realized that Cooper loves playdoh. I got him some today and he played in it and held it for about 30 minutes.

The muslim, the pink balloon, and the cat

(Dear Spud and Rachel, this one is for you. Hopefully it will add some laughter to your long hospital stay) Love Em and Coop

So today we headed to Kroger as we do almost every day. Cooper enjoyed riding in the buggy as he always does. However when we reached the checkout counter the muslim guy that bags our groceries gave Cooper a pink balloon. (he's a very nice guy) Not that casheers are dumb people, but come on dude Cooper has on a baseball shirt and you think he is a girl everytime we come in. Now the funny part of this story was the look on the bagger guys face when Cooper burst into a screaming fit because he was so afraid of the balloon. The guy looked at me like...what is wrong with your kid. He didn't laugh and say, oh I made him mad, he just stared at us with a blank face as if we were the ones that were crazy. Also, we had to endure the car ride home with the balloon in the car and Cooper was screaming everytime he looked at it. I had to drive while holding the balloon down in the floorboard out of Coop's sight. We got home and Sox was overjoyed that I had brought him a balloon. (oh yay, a large string for Sox to eat, that will later be pulled out of his butt by me) I threw the balloon away, and Sox got it out of the trash can, so I finally look it out to the dumpster. I ruin everybody's fun!!

Sparta and Tebow

Yesterday me Coop and mom headed to Sparta to visit my cousin Kara. She was in from Washington for a few days and we wouldn't miss getting to see her. We had a great time and all the babies were there which is always fun. They sort of just sit around and look at each other. And like always we took about a million pictures. I think it's a requirement for being in the Vaughn family. After this we headed home to hang out with Granna while Zac and Brenton went to see Tim Tebow at Lipscomb. Zac however ignored my request of telling Tebow that I want to have his babies. Oh well, better luck next time. For a very looong day...Cooper did very well. He slept for 2 hours while I drove back to Nashville. (We had fun with you Kara...love you)!!
