Final snow day

Monday Cooper was out of school again. There were still patchy spots of ice on the road. Kristin was having her car worked on in cool springs, so she and the kids came to our house while that was being done. The kids had so much fun with Cayden and Campbell. Kristin got us some lunch from zaxbys and we just hung out at the house all day. It was really fun! Cooper followed them to the car and insisted that he was going home with them. He was almost in tears when they left. Cayden plays really well with Cooper and I think that just thrilled coop! 

They ran around the house all on walkie talkies! They loved it. Then we had a nerf gun war. 

They introduced us to some new iPad games!! 

Winter wonderland...and power outage

Last night as soon as we put the boys in bed and sat down on the couch, the power went out. We were not surprised at all, in fact we had been waiting on it. I remembered to have Zac light the pilot to the fireplace earlier in the day thank goodness. He lit the fire as soon as the lights went out. I opened up the bedroom curtains and looked out at the pretty snow while I fell asleep. Zac sat up by the fire and read a book. We were surprised by how quickly they had the power back on. It was back on around 10:30. This morning we all went out to play again!! Quinn hated it, so yet again, I stayed in with him. I laid him down for a nap though and went out sledding with the boys. We also attempted try number 2 at getting out of the neighborhood. We were successful so we went to get some pizza and cookies. We stopped on the way back and took some pictures on a walking trail. I've been playing with my selfie stick! I'm not great with it but I love it!!

Later in the day Zac and Hank went back out and walked up to the top of the subdivision to do some more sledding. 

He wanted to see this snowman that someone had built. 

Snow Day

We got the news yesterday, but today is our third snow day. Hank is on Williamson County schedule and they didn't call theirs until late last night. He was extremely excited to get his first official snow day and to actually have snow to play in. At 6:30 this morning after I put on a movie for Cooper and changed him, I heard Zac. I assumed he didn't have to be at work quite as early, so I shrugged it off and rolled over. Then he came in and said he had been trying to get out of our neighborhood for 30 minutes and couldn't get out. We have a lot of hills that are just ice. Our snow came earlier than predicted and the roads were already bad. Then a little while later I get a call from Vanderbilt saying they would reschedule Cooper's endocrinology appointment that was at 10. I was glad Zac got to stay home though because the kids were dying to play outside, but Cooper and Quinn hated it and Hank loved it. We all went out around 8:30 this morning. Zac made us all pancakes for breakfast, which we inhaled and then ran out the door. Quinn and Cooper were ok until the wind started blowing and the snow was spitting in their faces. That set them both off and they had to go in. Zac, Hank and i stayed out a little longer. That was a mistake on my part because when I came inside, I found my kitchen a wreck. Cooper and Quinn had emptied my pantry and all the food and the tupperware cabinet. Hank played with his miles from tomorrowland toys, threw snow balls, sled down our hill in the back yard, he loved it. He went back out later in the day too. We now have about 6 or 7 inches of snow. As nice as one day of this is, I don't want anymore days of being trapped inside. I think we are in for another 2 days though with as cold and cloudy as its going to be. Zac is like me and was already going stir crazy from being in the house, so he went on a run. He bundled up and ran to the gas station and back. He wanted to see everything and I wasn't going to stop him if he was willing to pick me up some chocolate!
