Hank's sign language

Well, like most of my plans, yet another one has been flushed down the drain. Hank is now using sign language because he sees Cooper do it. The plan was have them close in age so that Cooper would learn to talk by watching Hank. It is hilarious though, Hank is talking some, but when he signs we just get so cracked up. I think when Cooper goes back to school and Hank only has me to hang out with during the day, he will really take off. He has been great for Cooper and they play so well together now. We just think it is so funny that we didn't think about Hank picking up Cooper's signs. This morning the boys and I woke up sick. I have one of the worst sore throats I've ever had and the boys noses are running, I'm sure their throats hurt because they aren't eating well. I laid out in the sun by the pool today and read my book, but I came in after only an hour because I didn't even feel like doing that. After dinner I gave Hank a hair cut. His hair cuts like a curly person's hair. It kind of springs up, so I cut it after it had mostly dried tonight and I think it did a little better.

Look who woke up Hank...

Here lately Hank has been sleeping until around 9:00. At 7 this morning I hear Hank very clearly and just knew his door was open.....yep, I found Cooper in his floor playing. He opened the door, woke Hank up and started playing.

 Hank wakes up miserable like me, look at that awful face.

I also discovered yesterday Cooper teaching Hank how by using the bench at the foot of the bed, he can climb onto the bed. So now they both can get on the bed. They love throwing off all the pillows.

 Gosh they are sweet though.

4 more days until Cooper goes back to school. I was so excited when he was home for the summer, and now I am just stressed out. I dread having to get up early again though. I just wonder how Hank will do without his play mate.

I cannot wait!!

I was reading my friend Lindsay's blog this morning and squealed out loud at what I saw. Mine and Zac's Sunday school teacher from Memphis has written a book. This excites me so much. I can never describe how good of a teacher he was and how influential his words were. That was one of the hardest things about leaving Memphis. We loved our Sunday school and our church. And we loved Scott. His personality, sense of humor, honesty and humbleness was just amazing. And now even so far away, I will get to  hear his words again through a book. Lindsay, I stole the picture from your blog, I hope you don't mind. Lindsay did the pictures for the book and the cover!! Oh my goodness now I'm crying.

Pretend Play

I went into the playroom last night and found Cooper playing with his barn. He was making all the animals walk around and making sounds for them and putting them in the barn. He is doing so great with pretend playing. Of course watching tv is still his activity of choice, but ever so often I'll catch him playing like this. It's good for him, I wish he would do it more often!!

Random

Yesterday after work, Zac spent the rest of the day and night with his friends. I stayed up doing laundry, reading and watching Shutter Island on t.v. Hank woke up crying around 10:30 so I put him in bed with me until Zac got home. This morning the boys and I headed to church and Zac to work. Nothing exciting, but I had some random pictures that I want to put up. The other day we had lunch with Liz and Carter, so I am posting those now. I also went through some of my baby pictures...honestly neither of my kids look like me. Cooper does a tiny bit, but not much. Oh....I almost forgot. As I was getting ready for church this morning (Au natural) I dropped my curling iron, used my arm to catch it against me and yep......burnt my BOOB. Why did I not just let the dumb iron fall. Their is a good 4 inch burn across my boob and the other part of my boob if you know what I mean. I now know true pain. It was almost worse than child birth. My apologies to my male readers, but wow, I had to tell about it. Ok, back to pictures.

Free Time

Thursday morning mom came up and we took the boys swimming. The weather was so nice and sunny. After that the boys took naps and then went home with mom for the weekend. Two nights without kids!!!! I woke up that morning with a headache so I didn't get to go for my run. I thought I would do that as soon as mom and the boys left. Well when they left it was 3:00 and I barely made it one mile before I thought I was going to have a heat stroke, I almost started throwing up. I walked the rest of the way home. What a bad idea. Friday morning it was sunny and I thought I would lay out in the sun, so I got up did Insanity and then looked outside and it was completely cloudy. Blah, so instead I went and got some Mac makeup that I had run out of, went to Target to get the second book in this series that I'm reading and then came home and gave myself and manicure and pedicure, made grilled chicken salads and then got ready to go see The Dark Night Rises. I was a tiny bit on edge at the theater, but then saw that we had security in and around the theater. I thought that was odd though because this morning the news said that no theater in Nashville was providing any extra security. Oh well, it was a great movie. I made Zac stick around so I could see who did the music. Of course it was Hans Zimmer who I expected. I can always tell when he does the music to a movie, it's just soooo good. We went to sonic after the movie so that I could get a blast and then came home. I sat in bed until almost midnight reading my book with a flashlight. Call me old but I still like reading a paper book even if I do have to use a light. Zac is on call this weekend so I get yet another day to myself, and yes I am so enjoying all this time. The house is so quiet and peaceful.

I know pictures of us are boring but with no kids around it's hard to blog about anything.

 Our dinner was very odd, grilled chicken, salads, chips and dip, cucumber and carrots. I have my new stella and dot bracelets on. I had a party a while back and ended up getting about 8 pieces of jewelry!! I still haven't worn everything yet.

Oh well, my kiddos are on their way home, so maybe my blog will be more exciting in the next few days. I really enjoyed my me time though. Thank you mama.

Prayers for a Friend

Cooper's friend Owen fell last night and broke his femur bone. He is in a spika cast for 6 weeks. Suzy (his mom) has a baby about Hank's age (we had our baby shower together) and is pregnant now. Please pray for this family. This will be very hard on them all. If any of you want to help them in any way like cooking or something, let me know and I will deliver anything to them, but I think mostly they just need prayer for as little discomfort as possible and quick healing.

A few beach pictures

On Monday night we had professional beach pictures made. We all got ready, had our hair nice and curled and then of course humidity and wind hits and you can see the final result for yourself. My hair kept attacking everyone near me, I could not keep it under control, it was a mess. The boys did surprisingly well though. Hanks favorite part was running on the boardwalk after pictures. Cooper did his eye squint in almost every picture. In spite of all that though, we got some good shots.
