Cooper's Heart

I checked Cooper out of school early and we went to Vanderbilt for his cardiology check up. Zac met me there to help hold Hank. However, next year there will be no holding Hank, we will leave him at home with a sitter. It was near impossible for me to hold Cooper's arms and Zac hold his legs and Hank and dangle some object over Cooper's face to distract him. The EKG was the worst, we basically didn't get one. After all that we waited in a room for the cardiologist. We finally just put the boys down on the nasty floor and let them play. Hank kept licking the floor though. We would look over at him and he would be face down on the floor rubbing his tongue over it. Ahhhh. We finally saw the Dr and Cooper's valves are still leaking. There is no narrowing of his aortic valve (which they have been watching since surgery) and there is no murmur that she can hear. So that was all good news. He is going to stay on the enalapril since his valves are still leaking. That is good with me because I was a little afraid to take him off of it. Zac went to pick up his medicine after the appointment and it went from $10 to $50 a month. Oh my word. That makes me sick. After we left, the drive home was awful. It was raining so hard that I couldn't see. The boys were both asleep by the time we got home. Cooper stayed asleep but Hank does not transfer, so he woke up.

We walked into our room and they had a mechanical singing, dancing dog!! Coop was in heaven.

Mama

Yep, Hank said mama this morning about 10 times. Now every time I leave his sight he says mama mama.

First Haircut

Last night I finally decided to cut Hank's hair. All I did was trim around the bottom and the ears. His hair is so wavy though, it was kind of hard to cut. When he was newborn, I use to trim at his peach fuzz, but I am logging last night as his first official hair cut. I think he must be teething or something, he has been waking up crying the past few nights and is not napping well during the day. I feel like I have taken about 5 benadryl right now, I'm so tired. Cooper's teacher even said that he wouldn't participate in activities yesterday, he just wanted to lay his head on his desk. It must be keeping him awake too. Cooper came home yesterday with his school picture. I opened it up and just got so tickled. It is classic Cooper and I expected nothing else. It's great.

Hank is such a little boy now. He doesn't even look like a baby to me anymore. And he was 10 months yesterday. I just realised it today. My goodness.

Cooper tells us now that he wants in his toy chest. He walks over and taps his finger on it.

Fred goes back to school

Cooper ended up doing better with Fred than I thought. I went to walgreens and printed all the pictures we took and sat down after church to work on the scrapbook part of Fred's weekend. It turned out cute and the kids will get to read about Fred's adventures today in class.

Cooper thought it was funny that Fred was in his bed, but when it came time for him to lay down, he wanted Fred out.
I think riding him down the stairs was Cooper's favorite part. As you can tell, he is super excited.

He even gave him some kisses

Sunday

Sunday morning mom and Greg met me at church. Zac was on call and i was so super busy that morning. We went and got Cooper out of his class so that he could sit with Papa and Nana in church. He saw mom walk into his class and got so excited, he threw his hands up in the air and started waving like crazy. We came home after church and mom had made us soup and sandwiches and cookies. Zac showed up right when we got home and was able to eat with us. Papa and Nana brought Cooper balloons and he was so excited. He loves balloons. He let them go in our foyer though and it is so tall that it took us quite a while to get them down. Mom and Greg stayed and played a while but then had to leave. We all had upwards basketball at church that we had to get to. Ours was really fun. Zac did all the announcing and the coaches did some fun games. Cooper loved it until they popped some balloons. It terrified him so bad, I thought he was going to claw through my skin.

Sweet Coop

Greg and Mom came to church this morning to hear me sing and then came home with us afterwards and fed us lunch. Anyways....Cooper clung to Greg's neck the entire service. He didn't even fall asleep until close to the end of church, but just hugged him the whole time. One of our youth from sunday school was sitting behind us and he snapped this picture during church. I'm glad he did, it was so cute.

Lazy Saturday

Zac is on call this weekend, so the boys and I sat home alone this morning and did a lot of nothing. The weekends are kind of hard now because the boys do not nap at the same time anymore and Cooper has been so loud today that Hank has not napped at all. So Hank has basically followed Cooper everywhere. I came up the staircase and found them playing in Cooper's bed, so I ran back downstairs to grab my camera. We also discovered that Hank can get out of the bathtub. Not without a serious head injury, mind you, but yes, he can climb out. These boys make me so tired. Ahhhh.  Ohhhh, and Hank said "up" the other day. I can't remember if I blogged that or not.

Fred

I picked Cooper up from school yesterday and his teacher said, "here Cooper gets to take home the class pet this weekend". Fred (the class pet) is this massive stuffed dog. And we get to be so blessed as to bring this flea bag to our home!! Now, here is why the kids take Fred home. During the fun filled weekend with Fred, families take pictures and put them in a scrapbook and they read about Fred's adventures on Monday when they return. There are several pages filled with love and laughter as kids take Fred places with them. Well, Cooper's page will be sad. Cooper is scared of Fred. He did sit on him yesterday, but he had his elephant in tow and it was distracting him. We are trying to think of unique things Fred and Cooper can do. We tried photographing them together in the bathtub, but Cooper screamed his heart out and made us get Fred away from him. HA. This may be Fred's saddest weekend yet.

Breakfast

This morning I met some of my friends at Noshville for an impromptu breakfast (actually it had been planned for quite some time, I just had forgotten about it until last night). Tiffany, Suzy, Erin and I all met up after dropping our kids off at school. I got there and Hank immediately started eating crackers and making a mess of the place. He was very smitten with miss Lyla. I held her for a minute and Hank just grinned and reached for her. I had an omelet and pancakes. The food was so good and I ate every last bit.

Then Tiff and sweet little Daniel showed up. He is the cutest thing.

Lyla was pulling a Cooper (cheesing at the camera)
Ah yes, I gave Hank a pack of butter to shut him up. Turns out, he can get it open. I looked down and he had eaten the butter and was a greasy mess.

 Hank and Suzy

Erin and Karis, Tiffany and Daniel
Hard to believe Suzy and I are about to start planning party's for Hank and Lylas birthdays.
After breakfast we ran over to the consignment sale. Tiffany and I wanted to see what things of ours sold and see what was marked down. As I was leaving, Suzy was finding some cute little girl clothes. I had fun with you all today!!

Boys being boys

Still nothing exciting to write about these days, but I do have some new pictures. I went to wake up Hank the other day and he was sideways in his crib with his feet hanging out the side rails. He and Cooper now climb the stairs with each other and as we were doing that last night, Hank said Up. So as of now, he says bubba and up. When Hank gets excited, he is so funny, he sounds like a dog panting. He breathes really fast and then laughs about it. Cooper's teacher told me yesterday that Cooper is pretty much feeding himself independently for lunch and snack time!! Yesterday as we were leaving, I had to sit Cooper down so that Emma could give him and hug and tell him bye. Cooper hugged her right back, they are too precious.

When I get up in the morning to get Cooper ready for school, this is what Hank does. He wakes up starving.
