First Preschool Meeting

So this morning we had Cooper's first meeting with an early childhood education lady. Our TEIS coordinator joined us for the meeting. It lasted about an hour and informed us of a lot of stuff. So Zac and I basically bought our house because it was zoned for this certain school that has a great blended preschool with a really good special ed program. We get to our meeting though and find out that according to an assessment of Cooper and program availability, he will be placed in a school. They will take into consideration the school that we are zoned for, but there is no guarantee. He will be able to go that school for kindergarten though. I think I was mostly angry that our coordinator never informed me of this. But all together the meeting went well, I will be able to take Cooper out early if I think the days are too long but it will be every day from 8-2. In the next 3 months we will have 2 more meetings, one will be an assessment of Cooper and his skills, and the other will be our IEP meeting which we will meet (for several hours most likely) and determine goals for Cooper and try to get services for him that we feel he should have.
In Hank news....he did not cry in the nursery tonight!!! Yay, and he is desperately wanting to sit up and play with Cooper. He tracks Cooper all around the room.

Thud

This afternoon I heard a loud thud from upstairs. I called out "Coop, you ok".  And he started crying. I ran upstairs like a hi-jumper, skipping about 3 at a time, reached the top and saw a head out of the bathtub. Cooper likes to throw his toys in the tub and apparently he threw one in that he wanted back. He had reached too far and fallen in. hehehe, I know it hurt and scared him, but it was funny once I saw what he had done.

Randomness

Hanks upper gums are swollen, the Dr told us this morning. He also officially hates shots, he cried alllll day long. Which means poor Cooper sat in front of the t.v all day. I hate days like that. It makes me feel like an awful mom. At dinner tonight we decided to try putting a piece of cantelope in the net teether. He really liked that. He would bite into it and then just suck the juice out. I also gave him some sweet potatos which he seemed to like the taste, but didnt want to eat any.

 He also loves his Sophie la giraffe teether. He isn't too sure how to use it, but loves it when I rub it on his gums.

 Hanks look is always changing, in these pictures I keep seeing my cousin Shane in him, but Shane looked a lot like dad, so I guess it's actually dad. I need to look back through some old pictures one day.

4 months

Sorry I don't have any pictures to load. This morning Hank had his 4 month checkup. Dr Patton said he looks great and is growing really well. He is in the 50 percentile for both weight and height. He weighed 15lb 2 oz today. He got his shots and Cooper also got his flu shot while we were there. Both boys are sacked out now. So once babies reach 14 lb it is ok for them not to eat during the night. Which means.....I'm not getting up anymore. Hank still wakes up 2-3 times a night. Tonight I'm putting in ear plugs and letting him cry. Cooper has hit a bit of a destructive phase. He pushed a bowl off the table last night and broke it, he keeps pushing over his floor lamp in his room, this morning he finally broke it in half (I'm mad about that), and the ball pit does not stay up anymore, all he wants to do is fold the tent up and knock it over. Uggg, I want to break him of this behavior..and fast.

Best Buddies 5K- Year 2

This morning we were up before the sun getting ready for the race. We woke the boys up and headed out around 6:15. I was too excited to sleep. I really enjoy events like these. Call me a nerd but I do!!! We arrived and put our numbers on and picked up our packets and tshirts and talked to some of our friends. There were over 700 runners this year!! As always there were several sports mascots and Fox news did the announcing. There were all kinds of give aways and bouncy houses for the kids. Mom watched the boys and walked them around in the stroller while we ran. We all lined up and gun fired off, but with so many people you have to break out of the clutter before you can really start running. We had a great team, it was Zac and I, John, Marcus, Ryan, Kenzie, Ronni, and Kim. Zac's time was 24:10 mine was 32:40. We both beat our previous year times. I was pleased overall. Afterwards we went to Hardees and pounded some biscuits.

2 Teethers and a sleepy Momma

We think Hank is teething now. Not the full blown crying all the time, cutting an actual tooth, but the beginning phases. He is a drooling, chewing, cranky mess. He hasn't even taken but one bottle all day today. He just bites on the bottle instead of eating. Last night he fell asleep in the floor. He had cried all day and I guess was worn out and finally gave up. This morning we had back to back therapy, so the boys were so tired when we got home. They both are still asleep. Cooper is also still teething. Some days he's worse than others, but he still has 8 teeth that have not come in.

Hank is desperately trying to sit up. When I lay him down on the bed, he will lift his head and shoulders up and just hold himself there. He's gonna have some killer abs. Really loves those feet of his too.

To the Zoo

This morning we met Suzy and her crew at the zoo at 9:30. As always, I was skeptical of bringing my kids in case they were awful. Hank however pretty much slept the entire day. It was great. It was a hot day, but we had a lot of fun. We stayed until almost 1:00, Cooper was pretty fussy by that time.

 I brought plenty of entertainment for Hank...expecting the worst.
