More birthday fun!

This morning dad and Gina came to take the boys to the zoo. Dad called last night and said he was taking Quinn too! Which meant..... Free day for me!! Hank opened his presents and then they headed to Krispy Kreme for breakfast. It looked like they had a good day!

April 27th-the emotional birthday post

"The days are long, but the years are short". This could not be a more true statement. This is one of the best, but hardest times. Every day I wait for nap time, wait for Zac to get home, wait for the weekend when I have him here,etc. But then, it seems like I blink and my babies are another year older. It's no secret that Hank and I have had an up and down relationship since the day he took his first breath. We have complete opposite personalities and he has always exhausted me. From having colic as a baby to crying and throwing a fit every single morning because he didn't want to go to theY. From the second my feet hit the floor he is at me non stop. I have waited for this day when he will finally go to kindergarten. But then he turned 5. I know that as soon as he starts school, that will be it. That is the beginning of letting go of my kids. Don't get me wrong, I will enjoy the break, but as exhausting as the past years have been, I will greatly miss them. Hank is so sweet. He loves me, he blows me kisses when he sees me and tells me how much he will miss me when he leaves. He is sweet to Cooper and Quinn. He is always curious and he loves to plan things out and make sure he knows step by step how our day is going to go each day. He comments on my clothes and my nail polish colors and is just so observant. He has become a very fun child to be around and we can have conversations and talk about things together, which is something I can't do with Cooper and Quinn yet. I have one more child to get to raise every day and it just breaks my heart to know that in a short while, my time of raising babies at home will be over. I pray so hard for all of my boys that they will not mimic todays culture, and it's now when I let go of them and turn them over into the school systems hands that I begin to worry more and think more about those things. I will miss the church preschool teaching that he gets. It has been so great. I wish the boys could be in Christian schools, I wish they had programs in those schools for Cooper, I wish I had the means to send them, but for now I don't, and I just have to pray and trust God. 

   Now.....onto what we did to celebrate today. We of course went to the gym first, then we headed to Toys R Us. Hank got a gift card for his birthday from Finn and Sam and I told him that he could take his card and pick him out some things at the store. He was very excited about this. We were in the store for about 5 to 10 minutes and he had picked out what he wanted and was done. He looked at a few other toys, and I showed him some other things, but he had made up his mind. He is just like me in that he knows exactly what it is he wants when he sees it. So we paid and headed out. We then went to pick up a very small birthday cake that I had ordered from Kroger. Everyone should get to blow candles out on their birthday!! He told me he wanted a cake, a happy meal from McDonalds and he wanted to have a picnic. So we did just that. We picked up food and headed home. He decided on an indoor picnic because the bees are still bad in the front bushes. So Hank, Quinn and I had a picnic in the den floor. I lit his candles, sang happy birthday to him, we all ate cake and then it was nap time. It was a fun morning. Quinn ended up eating a candle. I was on the phone with Erin when I heard Quinn gagging. He kept gagging and when I found him in the kitchen, he had thrown up. An entire chewed up purple candle with wick and all was in that pile of vomit. The kid wont eat anything we offer him, but he will eat a whole candle. Who knows. Thankfully, he puked it up and was fine. Mom and Greg facetimed him tonight and sang to him and then he showed them his toys that he bought. He had his school party yesterday. I sent in cookies and apple juice. They have a little routine where they wear a hat and this little birthday bear sings happy birthday and the class sings. He also filled out this big piece of paper that is all about him. Tomorrow Dad and Gina are taking him to the zoo since they were out of town for his party last weekend. He's had a pretty fun birthday week!!

He got a card in the mail from Laura and Johnny and he was so excited that he wanted to sit down and color on it.

Hanks Campout

We could not wait for school and work to be over Friday so that we could head to Manchester. We have been looking forward to celebrating Hanks birthday. Brenton had gone to the camp site earlier that day and set up the tents. We got there and the boys played while I went and picked up cookies and dropped off some things at moms. We had pizza, and made smores and opened gifts, it was just such a fun time. Finn and Sam even loved it and didn't want to leave. Around 8;00 Quinn was so tired that he was stumbling and we were afraid he might fall into the fire! All the girls left and headed home so the boys could get ready for bed too. We laid Quinn down at moms house and then ended up sitting up on the couch just me, Erin and mom and talking until almost 2am. Zac texted me at 6:00 saying they were up. I went and got hardees breakfast and some donuts and brought it to the campsite. We stayed until around 10:00 that morning and started breaking everything down. After that the boys played at moms house for quite a while. After that we ate lunch with the Coxes and then Zac took Cooper and Hank back to Nashville. Quinn and I stayed an extra night since we were going to Sparta for Megans wedding shower on Sunday. I took a nice long nap and then Greg, Mom, me and Quinn went to eat Mexican for supper. We had so much fun with Quinn.

The next morning... It was cold!!
